London Anchor Institutions' Network

Tech Lead, Browser London. Client: Bloomberg Associates for the Greater London Authority.

I recommended Squarespace over a custom build. I built the site and its gated members area. Concept to launch took six weeks. Ownership passed to a non-technical team at the GLA. The site still runs.

We Can Dream Together

Sassy Mama and Sassy Hong Kong

Lead developer, Rush Hour Media.

I led development on two lifestyle and parenting publications, with at least three other developers. I did much of the SEO and performance work. The team's Sassy Hong Kong site won a Silver W3 Award.

The Sassy Mama rebuild cut bounce rate 50% and roughly doubled retention and pages per session. That is the rebuild's result, not a personal metric.

Running an agency's infrastructure

Director, WordPress, Rush Hour Media, 2014–2020.

I ran the agency's hosting and IT while it grew from about 5 to about 18 people. I provisioned CentOS LAMP servers on Rackspace, then moved client hosting to WP Engine and Pantheon. I moved most client DNS to Cloudflare. I wrote the architecture, business continuity, and disaster recovery documentation that took the agency through a Fortune 500 company's vendor procurement.
